WHEN ARCHITECTS GO BRUTAL

These "piles of concrete" belong to the 'BRUTALIST' style of architecture, tho it's more of a philosophy. It's all about living in the sky, even living standards and favouring function over form. People don't like these structures.......I don't mind them. 'Ave a look at these. (taken around Leicester)

Biggin' up Andraes Gursky

PHVP3412 PERSONAL STATEMENT- RYAN MAN

Not wishing to remain comfortable, I have pushed myself continually to experiment with, improve and refine everything I know about image making. In a short time, due to a boundless enthusiasm, I have gained wide experience in both filmmaking and photography; the enjoyment of the work and the excitement of new challenges means that even whilst studying, I try to work as much as possible, either as a freelancer or on personal projects.

Although an interested and competent photographer, my enthusiasm leans closer towards filmmaking; in my view, the visceral experience of moving images cannot be matched; the ability to create curiosity, tension and optimism by the simple process of cutting and arranging a series of shots, is both thrilling and powerful.

Over the last 4 years I have developed skills in editing, directing, cinematography and camera operating; all of which have been demonstrated in the production of music promos, web virals, corporate videos and various other pieces of work for a range clients. In addition, several of my personal films have been shown in film festivals, and back in Dec '08, I was lucky enough to have an ident of mine aired on MTV.
